DAYS OF OPERATION: TUESDAY – FRIDAY & SUNDAY

Day 1 - Arrival & Laguna Grande
The journey begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Cuyabeno Bridge, the main gateway to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Production Reserve. From this point, we venture deep into the rainforest, navigating by motorized canoe along the Cuyabeno River for approximately 2.5 hours, where observing the rich flora and fauna becomes the first unforgettable experience of the trip. Upon arrival at Nicky Amazon Lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing cocktail. Afterwards, your comfortable rooms will be assigned, followed by a carefully prepared lunch marking the beginning of a unique stay in the heart of the Amazon.
In the afternoon, we head to the stunning Laguna Grande, located approximately 45 minutes from the lodge. Along the way, we explore the lush vegetation and the fascinating flooded forest ecosystem known as “Igapó,” home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to swim in its calm waters and enjoy one of the most breathtaking sunsets in the Amazon. Later, we embark on an exciting nighttime excursion, perfect for spotting bats and caimans in their natural habitat.
Finally, we return to the lodge for dinner. During this time, your bilingual guide will provide a briefing about the next day’s activities, preparing you for the continuation of this unforgettable jungle experience.
Day 2 - Visit Seoqueya Community
Early in the morning, enjoy a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate as the rainforest awakens around you. We begin the day with a paddle canoe exploration, perfect for spotting birds, monkeys, and if we’re lucky the fascinating pink river dolphins. Afterwards, we return to the lodge for a nutritious breakfast.
Next, we navigate downstream to visit the Siona indigenous community, where you will experience their culture firsthand. Learn about their language, traditions, and way of life, taste fresh tropical fruits, and take part in the preparation of “casave,” a traditional cassava bread. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to admire and purchase beautiful handicrafts made by Siona women, directly supporting their families.
In the afternoon, we venture into the rainforest on a guided walk, discovering its incredible biodiversity colorful butterflies, frogs, birds, and a wide variety of plants with unique uses. As night falls, the jungle comes alive with new sounds and activity, creating a truly immersive experience. Finally, we return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 3 - Paddling & Return to Quito
Early in the morning, we set out on a short canoe excursion to enjoy the final moments immersed in nature and say goodbye to the rainforest. After breakfast, you will have time to organize your luggage before check-out at 8:30 a.m.
For the return journey, a farewell snack will be provided as we navigate back to the Cuyabeno Bridge, arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m. There, a private tourist transfer will be waiting to take you back to Quito, bringing your unforgettable Amazon experience to a close.
IMPORTANT
- If you want to return by public bus you can do it, you must take a bus from the Cuyabeno Bridge to Lago Agrio and from there take the bus back to Quito, this bus passes through the bridge every hour.
- All routes and programs are subject to change without prior notice due to reserve regulations, weather conditions, natural events, seasonal changes or security reasons. Flexibility is the key to the success of every tour. The safety of our passengers is our top priority.

- Motorized canoe transportation IN/OUT from El Puente de Cuyabeno to the Lodge and from the Lodge to El Puente de Cuyabeno.
