day by day - nATURE ESCAPE - 4 days / 3 nights
DAYS OF OPERATION: MONDAY – TUESDAY – THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Day 1 - Arrival & Laguna Grande
The trip starts at 10:30 am at “El Puente del Cuyabeno”, the main access to the Cuyabeno Reserve. we navigate by motorized canoe on the Cuyabeno River for 2.5 hours to Nicky Amazon Lodge, observing wildlife. Upon arrival, we receive a welcome cocktail, rooms are assigned, and we have lunch.
In the afternoon, we visit Laguna Grande, 45 minutes from the lodge, explore vegetation and the ‘Igapó’ ecosystem. Then, we swim and watch the sunset, then continue with a night excursion to see bats and caimans. We return to the lodge for dinner, where the bilingual guide will inform about the next activities.
Day 2 - Visit Seoqueya Community
Early in the morning we will go bird watching by canoe, paddling and appreciating the local fauna. Afterwards, we return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards, we visit the Siona indigenous community, participating in the cassava harvest and the preparation of “Cassave”, typical bread of the region, while learning about their customs and traditions. We have lunch with the community. Return to the lodge to rest. In the afternoon we take a walk in the jungle to observe insects, spiders and tree frogs. Dinner.
Day 3 - Paddling Conoe & Hiking
In the morning, early activity, then return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterward, we will have an excursion, either by canoe or hiking, exploring a part of the jungle. Our guide will provide information on the medicinal uses of plants, as utilized by native cultures for generations. After the activity, we will return to the lodge for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Cuyabeno River by canoe, enjoying the landscape and listening to the sounds of the jungle while looking for exotic local species. Dinner.
Day 4 - Paddling & Return to Quito
Early in the morning we will take a short canoe excursion to observe wildlife. After breakfast, we will pack and check-out at 08:00 am.
We’ll receive a farewell snack for the return to El Puente de Cuyabeno, arriving at approximately 10:30 am, where a private bus will take us back to Quito.
IMPORTANT
- If you want to return by public bus you can do it, you must take a bus from the Cuyabeno Bridge to Lago Agrio and from there take the bus back to Quito, this bus passes through the bridge every hour.
- All routes and programs are subject to change without prior notice due to reserve regulations, weather conditions, natural events, seasonal changes or security reasons. Flexibility is the key to the success of every tour. The safety of our passengers is our top priority.

- Motorized canoe transportation IN/OUT from El Puente de Cuyabeno to the Lodge and from the Lodge to El Puente de Cuyabeno.
- Welcome and farewell cocktail.
- Lodging in comfortable rooms with private bathroom and hot water shower.
- Complete meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner); vegetarian or vegan menus as required. Snacks before afternoon activities.
- Coffee station, purified water, coffee and tea are always available.
- Guided tours with bilingual (English and Spanish) certified naturalist guides during all excursions.
- Life jackets and rubber boots (up to size 48).
