Nicky Amazon Lodge is located in the Cuyabeno Reserve, 30 minutes from Laguna Grande. This reserve is one of the most biodiverse destinations on the planet, offering an immersive experience in the Amazon rainforest.

You can visit the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest any time of the year, but we have 2 different times at the Cuyabeno Reserve:  The first one is the dry time that goes from September to October and during this time the level of the water decreases. We can watch more Caimans than Dolphins. And we have the Rainy time that goes from April to July an during this time you watch more Dolphins than Caimans, but any way to visit the Rainforest  anytime of the year.

The lodge has a varied menu with options for different dietary preferences vegan, vegetarian or gluten free, including traditional Amazonian dishes and international cuisine. Fresh, local ingredients are featured in every meal, providing an authentic culinary experience.

There is no restriction for the age, but we recommend that all children be 1 year old and up. Nicky Amazon Lodge is suitable for family visits, including children. The lodge provides safe and educational activities that allow young children to learn and enjoy the Amazon rainforest under the supervision of experienced guides.

If you are traveling alone, you can join an existing group at Nicky Amazon Lodge. The lodge welcomes solo travelers and organizes small group excursions, allowing you to meet other travelers and share the Amazon experience. In addition, activities are designed to be enjoyed by all participants, regardless of whether they are traveling alone, as a couple or in a group. You can either ask for a single room or for shared accommodation

Yes, we can provide private tours for those looking for a more personalized experience. This can include specific hiking or paddling excursions and activities tailored to your particular interests.

• Motorized canoe transportation IN/OUT from El Puente de Cuyabeno to the Lodge and from the Lodge to El Puente de Cuyabeno.
• Welcome cocktail.

We have electricity provided by a generator which is on from 15h30 to 16h30p.m and from 18h00p.m to 22h00p.m. However, internet connection is limited or non-existent, allowing guests to disconnect and fully enjoy nature for $15 for every day of stay.

Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, such as guided jungle excursions, wildlife observation, canoe rides, visits to indigenous communities, and pink dolphin watching. Night outings are also provided to observe nocturnal wildlife.

Yes, it is safe to swim in designated areas of Laguna Grande, where local guides ensure that conditions are suitable. It is an activity that is usually done in the company of the guides, who know the environment well.

It is not mandatory to be vaccinated to visit the Ecuadorian Amazon, since it is only a few days that you are going to spend in our lodge, our staff and the community are vaccinated against any disease for the safety of our passengers.  

If you decide to go for 4 days or 5 days, there is no problem you can tell your guide that you want to stay an extra day or even more days; you can easily pay $70 per every extra day. It all depends on availability, but generally it is possible.

To travel in Ecuador is very easy, but please when you travel by public transportation in Ecuador: on longer trips by public bus: Don’t leave anything inside the bus if you get off for toilet or for stretching legs, if you fall sleep, please don’t leave you luggage and cameras at the sides, keep them with you in front or hugging them.

Mosquito repellent is needed. When you are on the bus/pick up, canoe, and at the lodge is not necessary. Please bring long sleeved shirts and long pants so that you will not use much mosquito repellent. You will need mosquito repellent at the local family visit, because there are sandflies.

Due to the remote location and natural terrain, the facilities at Nicky Amazon Lodge may present challenges for people with reduced mobility. However, we are committed to providing the best possible experience, so we recommend contacting us in advance to discuss specific needs.
